The Roadblock: Project affordability. Design solution approximately 2 to 3 times target spend (budget).
The (Re)Work: During our initial meeting, I asked some simple questions about the project budget and the reasons behind the selected building design that they were proposing. Through an honest assessment and feedback, I identified that the proposal was not viable based on the project's facts. An alternative design solution was explored with the clients that minimised the interaction with the existing dwelling. We established an approach and a viable path to completion that they could regroup with their designer. We recommended a project builder that suited the scale of the project for them to work with.
Money Saved: Circa $300,000
